Feast Menu
Feast in Three Removes after the manner of Sabina Welserin
Translation by Valoise Armstrong, 2001
Redaction by Lucia Greenstone, 2008
Late Period German

First Remove:
A Dish in Various Colors: Colored, crisp glazes surround hot, spicy chicken
Fesser Bread with soft cheese: Tiny shells of puff pastry stuffed with savory homemade cheese
Another Apple Tart: But one you won’t forget with its filling of apples, raisins and a melting hint of beef marrow
Meat Aspic: Dine royally on a cool dish made of aspic flavored with wine, roses and rare spice from the Orient

Second Remove:
Game Pie: Venison is in season, and our hunters have been lucky! All meat, no fillers!
Tart of Preserved Gooseberries: Handpicked in the heart of summer and stored in sweet syrup to tease your winter palate, served in a rich, flaky crust
A Dish of Beetroot: Hearty red globes to delight your inner anachronist, simmered in wine and herbs
Sourdough Bread and Honey Butter: Artisan sourdough, handmade in Ealdnordvuda, with your old favorite, whipped honey butter

Third Remove:
Roast Duck: Crisp, brown skin. Dark meat dripping with juices. Need we say more?
Sour Cherry Pudding: Tangy, tart, the perfect accompaniment to hot roast fowl
Zerena: Smooth almond cream, exquisitely molded and colored just for you!
Nurnberger Lebkuchen: the spiced honey-gingerbread that made Nurnberger famous, still prepared today
A Good Marzipan: Is it a cookie? Is it a candy? Is it a cake? A crunchy wafer with the delicate flavor of almonds and roses, covered in a dainty sugar icing.
